Last night I was talking to a friend of mine about a situation that has occurred in a group that he is in. Seems that there are a vast amount of different paths in this group. Ranging from Pagans to Christians. Since it is a role playing Renaissance acting group you can expect all types of people being members.
Now the thing is the Pagans are making known their religious views to a point that is way over the hedge here. Pushing it on the Christians and well anyone that will listen. Making statements that their path is the path to walk. The only path that is right. You know the types.
Showing that their tolerance is in fact intolerant of other paths. I read a letter that one of the members wrote and all I could say was WOW.
I understand that each person who has a path they travel on strongly believes it is the correct one yet it is only correct and right for them. It does not mean that they should shove their Book of Shadows down a Christians throat. Belittling and berating them is simply wrong. Isn't this what has happened to the Pagans of long past and even to this day? People not understanding the path proclaiming them to be evil, misguided or simply weirdos? But to have a Pagan turn against a Pagan? Now that is a good one.
Pagans and Wiccans are becoming their own worst enemies. Since I am in this world of the Occult I see this all to often. These over zealous few make it hard for the others to show the world that they are not nuts. It is a misguided conception that your religious choosing is the right one or the only one. Are you not becoming just as the Christians long past that burned the Pagans? You are not only burning the Christians but your fellow path walkers at the same time
A new age Burning Times is coming. Not by those outsiders but by our own travelers. Tolerance and understanding should be first and foremost. Realizing that everyone has the Free Will to believe in whatever it is they wish to.
Respect others and thier religious beliefs. Do not degrade those that do not believe how and what you do. You may not agree with their religion or path but this does not give any single religious person to say it is wrong and that their way is the only way.
God, Goddess, Divine One. Are they not all the same yet described differently? God is God. It is simply a matter of which one the person wishes to pray or chant to.
Prayers and chanting soothes the soul of those that do this. If it works for them then let it be.
There is not a single one religious path that is the ONE path.
