I was looking for something the other day on eBay. Nothing odd there at all. I came upon a sellers description that really bothered me about shipping costs.
In the description they explained that they only shipped using First Class Parcel and Priority. OK, that is fine until they added that insurance is not available using First Class Parcel only Priority. I thought maybe they were talking about International but you are still able to insure. No, they were talking about USA mailings.
Looking at the shipping costs their cost was exceedingly high. Close to rape to me. That doesn't bother me as much as the false statement of insurance is not available for First Class Parcel, as it is. I don't know what they are thinking but that is so misleading to say the least.
I have a storefront on eBay and am a Power Seller so I am very aware of costs of shipping for all the services. I nearly wrote them to ask why they posted such a blatant lie but decided it wasn't worth it. Someone else will either do that or turn them in for it.
I figured out quickly that they wanted the higher priced Priority shipping cost. Placing doubts into buyers heads about insurance. Some people want insurance and if they are new or unsuspecting they will pay the outrageous cost.
I guess that selling sometimes is hard enough without people over inflating costs of shipping and being misleading in their descriptions. No, they were not new sellers, having a feedback of 272 they know better.
Everyone has a scam, right?
