We all know that oysters produce pearls. Some of us may even own a pearl ring or necklace that we treasure. I know I have a necklace that I was given by my children when they were smaller that I only wear on special occasions. A single strand pearl necklace. I just love it.
But have you ever thought what if there were other things that you would like to see in an oyster other than well, pearls? Using your imagination, what would you like to see when you open an oyster up?
Personally, I would love to see a 2 carat sapphire or garnet. Wouldn't that make for a beautiful ring or necklace? If it were a sapphire I would make a necklace as I already own a ring and bracelet. Throw in a few tiny diamonds with that find and I would be good to go. haha Keys to new car would be stretching it a little, but we are dreaming here. So, why not?
One thing in all seriousness that we have to think about when we are eating
Gulf oysters is the way in which they are prepared. These culinary delights are able to kill some people which have certain medical conditions. And even those that do not. Yet how do you know how to tell if it is safe to eat oysters or the way in which they are prepared?
One good way is to visit Be Oyster Aware. You will find all types of information

on oyster safety. There are some great articles available to be more informed. What I liked was the recipes. I like my oysters fried. Not to partial to the raw oyster eating at all. But fried, WOW those are delicious.
