I was slightly more than entertained to learn about the annual White Squirrel Festival, a small mountain town is a hub of arts and crafts and waterfalls. I do wonder why the town was named White Squirrel. But since it is a mountain community I am going to use my imagination.
Now for those that are into the leaf tourism. Seeing the changes in the leaves for a day trip that is. I was totally impressed by the blog post entitled: Guide to Leaf Looking in Western NC. It wasn't so much the scenic drive and the way in which it was written. It was more impressive as the writer told the reader about making preparations to go. For example the car in good condition, gas and plenty of water to drink. The clothing and what to wear was also something that most would leave out. Well, thought out articles actually.
By the time I was finished reading the entries I was drawn to look up pictures on the web of the communities that they were talking about. I can readily see why it is called a Dream Community. As by the writing of the various community's they truly sound dreamy.
I do hope that when and if they design a regular web site they carry over the innovative writing style that they have started on the blog. It would make it a step above the normal real estate sites in selling homes and communities.
Even if you are not looking to buy property here, the blog is well worth reading.
