On the job accidents can be prevented with training and knowledge that employers are able to give to their employees.
Construction is filled with accidents that can be prevented by employees enrolling in training courses offered by Pure Safety.
Their courses are designed for the individual to learn and retain information not simply sit through the course because they are supposed to. Individuals are also able to go back on line to look things up and refresh what they have learned in the designated course they were iin.
One such course is the
OSHA construction safety training course. This is a 10 hour course, which is a total of 14 lessons. Some of the specifics that this firm offers for the 10 our course is as follows:
10 hours of seat time
Self-Paced - Students have up to 6 months to complete
Interactive and Engaging - Every lesson includes learning activities and brainteasers to reinforce employee knowledge
Full Testing - Each lesson includes a post-quiz and a final exam is provided at the end of the full program. A minimum score of 70% is required.
Students who successfully complete the program receive a completion card from the U.S. Department of Labor
I think that the interactive aspect is the best part for those taking the course. Why? If it is something that you are actively participating through the computer you are more apt to actually retain the knowledge that you are being presented. Simply listening to a speaker drone on and on will not instill anything. People are more likely to learn with a hands on approach.
If more employers placed their employees in courses such as these the accident rate might go down. Accident rate down means insurance and workman's comp goes down also. Which of course in the long run is passed down to the consumer.
This company has many courses that I am sure would fit any company!
