Since my father had his massive strokes last year I have been looking into
care homes for him.
Sometimes he just needs a little more than we have to offer him as far as stimulation goes but he is not ready for a home. I know that he is a handful with the way he acts or should I say acts out.
When this happened I researched and researched trying ot find answers to questions. I really found nothing that came close to anything that I had on my mind.
Still today I have questions and it has now been one year since he became ill.
Where do you go? I found this site Better Caring and they had a lot of information on caring for individuals that I found informative and yes, helpful.
This site offers you resources and information form choosing a home to taking care of the individual in your home. Offering suggestion that sure gave me a fresh view on a few things.
Another good point is that you can actually join a community online with others that are in the same boat as you. Maybe as caregivers finding this community support we wont feel so isolated in what we do.
For those of you that need answers to homes, care givers and anything that has to do with the elderly and the responsibility of their care I would strongly urge you to visit this site.
It gave me helpful insights that I wish I had known about when I first started taking care of him in my home.
Thank you for offering such a beneficial site to us caregivers
