Pandora's Casket

Last Thursday was the Karate test for the students to advance to different colors of belts. This is when the light bulbs really went off for most of these kids, mine included.

I was very impressed and proud of Nick when I saw him going through the test that was over two hours long, non stop for them all. For larger views of the pictures, simply click each thumbnail.

He is so serious when he is going through his stances. Nothing like the little boy at home that is for sure.








After going through the tests for each color belts there was an award ceremony where they are given their belts and recognition certificate. Nick needed a little help with his belt by one of the instructors that was there to grade and score the students.








The end result is Nick is now a yellow belt in karate. Here he is with new belt and certificate! Very proud of him. Now he is planning his studies to move on to the orange belt. He loves his karate!

This week I am in charge of the 3rd grade Valentine's Day party. Why? I was temporarily insane is why. My son Nick wanted me to come to more of the parties so I said OK. Now, I regret it.

I really hate being around some of the other mothers that are there. Most are younger than I am and sit around acting like fools. Or like they are younger than their children. This evening I have to start calling these moms I guess to organize what they are bringing and crap like that.

I know that there will be a lot good things there to eat. A good time to begin thinking about weight loss pills! haha

The party will more than likely be fun. Plus it is for Nick and that is all that matters. One day of being around stupid people for him to have a great day.

During the week I had a couple of requests for some oils that I do not have currently in my store front stock. Although I do have many oils that are not for public viewing a lot of my customers know that they are there for the asking.

I have noticed that I have been asked for the various tonics to loose weight that I have. I suppose that these are the people that would much rather try this first before using diet pills.

Most of the oils that are special requests are more expensive than the normal oils as the herbs and flowers are not something that are looked for. The one oil I that I make will smell up the work room and all other rooms for hours after. Not looking forward in that at all. haha

These special order oils will of course be made available else where when the time comes.

This weekend has been great. With temperatures 38-45 it is a welcome change.

I actually was able to do a few things that with the cold weather I did not want to do. One thing was to mop. Nothing worse than mopping in the cold. haha

Saturday was great. I spent the entire day doing things that I wanted to instead of having to. All orders and communications were completed so it was much like having the time off. I did look into some term insurance as with the recent event here it makes you think if you are covered enough.

One thing that did put a zinger into the day was the funeral home called and said that dad's ashes were ready to be either delivered or picked up. Truthfully I just froze hearing that. Crying just a little as that is another step that has to be taken. I will go pick them up this week. Sure put a damper on the good mood I was in for a bit anyway.
