Our bathroom restoration is one of the biggest projects we have going right now. We have two bathrooms. One upstairs and one downstairs

The one upstairs is huge and will actually be made into the main bathroom as the one downstairs is bg enough to hold an ant only it feels like. haha

One of the first things that I looked into were bathroom vanities. Since I want this to look old fashioned yet with the modern touches I searched high and low. The one we have now has a real marble top that I want to keep in there but to update the wood part to something brighter and well, prettier.

I can not wait to have this project finished. It has been a super pain in the neck but the end results will be fabulous!

This holiday my 13 year old son is going to make a coffee cake for Christmas breakfast. We always do a very big feast in the morning as one of our family traditions. I have my recipe but wanted something a little easier for him to use. I found this recipe on the site homeparents.about.com and it seems to fit what it is I was looking for.

Here is the recipe:

This easy coffee cake can be made with Jiffy mix or Bisquick.
INGREDIENTS:

2 cups baking mix (I like Jiffy, but Bisquick should work)
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup raisins
1 egg
2/3 cup apple juice
2/3 cup baking mix
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
* 1/2 stick margarine

PREPARATION:
Stir the baking mix, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and raisins together. Add the egg and juice and mix well. Spray a 9 inch round cake pan with baking spray. Pour batter into pan. Mix the baking mix, brown sugar, and cinnamon together.

Work the margarine into it until it's crumbly. Sprinkle over the batter in the pan. Bake for about 30 minutes at 400 degrees. - Debbie, forum member

This weekend we will finally begin to decorate the house-Inside and outside. I can not wait to Mr. BIG, the snowman blown up and out by Sparky. That is going to look so good!

James and Trev will have to hang the lights this year. This will be the first year that we have done lights on the outside. Wanted to the first couple of years but for some reason we just are to lazy hahaha

Still have to bring down the tubs down that are filled with the deco's. Last year I bought a lot of deco's that were 1/2 off. Yes, I am cheap!

Bought Nicky a Christmas present that I am sure that he will like. One down, one hundred to go! This weekend I will start going to the usual sites to look for presents. ;(

I had another idea for something else that I am still going to put into action in a week or so. I still have two other things that I have been working on and they will be ready for release around the first of the year. I am always thinking of new things that will provoke a little interest and zest into my life. haha

Is there a place that you would just love to visit but never think that you will go? I would love to go to Savannah, Georgia. Why you are asking yourself? For one thing I love the south and looking at the homes that were built years ago. Not to mention hte food. Yes, I am a lover of the southern delicacies that I have heard in Savannah is nearly the best with the restaurants that they have.

Now during the holiday season I spied one of the Trusted Tours and Attractions which makes visiting even more appealing. The Holly Jolly Holiday Trolley tour. It looks like it would be so much fun to do while visiting this city. The trolley tour takes you through the brightly lite city filled with lights galore. Transforming your tour into a lighted wonderland. There is caroling from the trolley also. How much fun would that be for you and your family?

What is really neat is that the tour is conducted by elves that will tell of the historical information in a merry, holiday way. Keeping the tour lively and filled with the holiday cheer! At the end of the tour, which sealed the deal with me is that you end up at the Savannah Candy Kitchen where you get a free sample of candy. We all love candy!

Better watch out on the way in which you discipline your children. In Boston there will be state talks on introducing a bill that prohibits spanking children by parents. That's right, parents will no longer be able to spank children no matter what or you could and probably would go to jail or be fined.

Hearing the woman that is presenting the bill talks I think she is completely dingy. Sorry. As she said, it is not meant for the over all parents that actually do not spank excessively but for the small per centage of parents that go to the point of abuse.

So, this bill is for a small percentage? The state steps in and says how we as parents can and WILL discipline our children. We have no options as thinking individuals? This is taken away by being punishable by law.

Now, I rarely if ever spank my children. I talk them to death where they have actually said they would rather have had a spanking than a lecture. Yes, that's right. But my point is, they are taking away the rights of parents that rarely if ever spank. No choices left at all putting the power into the children's hands. Parents will be at the mercy of the diabolical child that picks up the phone, goes to their school counselor stating they were spanked when they were not because they are pissed at being lectured or grounded.

How long will it be when they the state says we can no longer ground the children? Will they say it is abuse taking away their cell phones, land lines or inter net? Go ahead and laugh but it could happen.

Sounds much like communism to me. State telling us what and when to do it.

Sad state of affairs to me.
