Ebay Rant

I can see why so many sellers are fed up with ebay. I have been pissed at them for a number of months with all the changes that has been made but you keep on going thinking that these changes can be gotten used to. Some though just can not.

Buyers, although not the over all masses, have turned into demonic, demanding, tyrants that expect more from sellers than we are either able to give or rather wish to give them. Throwing around threats, blackmail for feedback and other notions that they are in control.

They are in control. They have sellers over a barrel and they know it. Since the feedback changes many sellers have noted a change in the way the buyers are acting. Since we the sellers have no power to tell the selling public about the buyers other than a positive these buyers go on unscathed.

Let us take for example the deadbeat buyer. They do not pay for what they purchased. Oh yes, we are able to file a dispute and get our fees back, only after ten days, but there is no way to warn the other sellers out there. Or you have the buyer that is a bully. Yes, that happens. Telling you what to do, how to do it and when to do it. If you do not do what they want they turn around and bring up feedback or that stupid ass star system that is in place. Can we inform others about this type of buyer? Even if they paid on time they might deserve a neutral for the bullying and just being plain hateful.

We are able to give them a positive and write it all out in the feedback but why reinforce their behavior? Letting it go is the easiest way to go. Sorry future sellers but you know what I mean.

International sales are the worse. No real tracking for ground services which this is what they want to pay for as it is cheap. Items may sit for long periods of time at customs and nobody is notified of this. Who gets slammed? The seller.
With the new system if we post a special notice in all our listings ebay says they will help sellers with this. Yea right. Paypal came out with the as long as you have the stamped official document from shipping you had proof. What a joke. It does not work. So some buyers have learned to scam the system. Not only getting money back but keeping the items as well. Personal experience on this one.

No matter how you paint it, between ebay and Pay pal sellers hands are tied. With all the changes and trying to get the buyers back I think that they ran an add on TV or radio that told the public if you are an asshole or scammer please come buy on ebay.

This is why this year I am phasing ebay out. Who the heck needs all the crap that either the buyers give or the lack of protection that ebay and paypal gives to the sellers?

I would like to say that not all my buyers are like that. I have so many that are so very nice no matter what happens it compensates for the assholes I do get. But it is not enough to stay any longer than this year.

If sellers begin to leave where does this leave ebay? Oh there will always be sellers but of what caliber will they be?
