I guess it slowly started when I had the flu the past couple of weeks. I began not to drop as much. To sick and did not want to be bothered. I did drop off and on but nothing like the usual every single day. Dropping just seems to be more of a hassle than taking a weight loss supplement when you just do not need it.

I saw that my cards went from on the front page of the category to now third or maybe even fourth. At first I was a little pissy when I saw that I was no longer in the 1st place but shrugged and moved on.

Finding that by not dropping I was actually utilizing my time where it was most needed. Either working on something small or just relaxing doing nothing.

Dropping has become a chore. Slow loading sites with thousands of videos, music and widgets that drive me crazy and take forever to load. Or the site its self loading at a snails pace. The waiting is the killer.

I dropped this week but found that I was only doing it if I had the time. Really not missing doing it either.

Not that I am going to stop completely right now, just do it when I feel like it.

I know what you mean. I have slowed down quite a bit too. and I get tired of waiting for all of the sites to load.

But, I am a slow load site so I feel it is only fair that if they wait for me I should wait too.

You load fast and that is nice. So as I am weighed down in graphics, photos and widgets I will not expect a return drop.

And that's okay. I mostly wanted to let you that you are not alone. Many of us are getting very tired of spending hours doing nothing except drops.

Oh, I hear you! I have been sick too this week along with my little boy (stomach flu just sucks!) and so did much less dropping. It does take a lot of time and seems like a chore. I will keep dropping too, but maybe cut back some. Entrecard is like something that is bad for you but good at the same time...EVIL, lol!!

i am sorry you have/had the flu- i actually went and got a flu shot this year cause my bout of flu last year made want to literally die. it would have been the most humane thing to do for me at the time, i was evebn to sick to go to the doctor to get anything to make me feel better. i just joined entrecard because i wanted to connect with other bloggers. it sounds like its a chore, though...

I hear you about the dropping. Where I live, we only can get dial-up and it can take me 6 hours just to drop 50. Also when I don't drop, nobody else does either. I wish there were another way.

It's surprising to me how many people do not visit unless I've visited them first. I probably won't be able to keep up a full dropping regimen much longer myself. The traffic is nice, but it just takes too long. I'm hoping they drop the maximum to something more reasonable.

I am so with you. When I first started Entrecard, I enjoyed finding new blogs but the tagging this is such a chore that I almost dread doing it. But I'm not ready to give it up just yet. Ugh!!!

I dropped out of entrecard, completely. I found many great blogs through it, made friends too, but it was very time consuming. I still visit the blogs I like (like this one)but at a much better pace.

I totally agree and have stopped trying to become the next Drop Star. The level of importance I put on dropping EC's was waaaay out of balance.

Now, I'm focused on creating quality content for my site - that is it's life blood. When you think about it, that's what Graham (or whoever wrote the EC ebook) encourages - creating content.

Dropping EC's has become much more enjoyable ever since I implemented their suggestions. I have slowed my activity to a crawl so that I can make comments(like this one) on the blogs I visit.

There is no way I could drop on 300 blogs, and comment, stumble/review, digg, technorati them all - unless I hired a staff of 3-4 people to help. Some people actually enlist their kids to do just that. Since I don't have that luxury, I keep it real and do what I can do, and that's it.

I sleep very well at night also

Entrecard is addictive, you can get to a point where you forget just how much time you are spending dropping on blogs.

I will not stop dropping but I am more selective on those I drop on, I tend to not bother waiting for blogs to load if they are slow to load. There are bloggers that overload their blog with so much carp it's hard to concentrate on the real content anyway

I totally hear what you are saying, I used to read and drop 300 a day but that was a full time job. Now I drop in on a few a day because I want to.

I'm so sorry you've been sick and I hope you are feeling better.
I agree with you about Entrecard. If you don't drop, you don't keep your rank but it's a huge chore.
I didn't drop all last week either and I didn't miss it at all.
