With the holiday season nearly upon us the one thing that I start thinking about and that is the decorating of the home. Since we are always on some level of a room restoration we are lucky as the room ends up like a blank canvas. Our home is 130 years and restoring it to the original look sometimes is a greater task than you would think.
I tend to look for certain things for certain rooms as they each have a theme yet wishing to have a natural flow from one room to the next. My top concern for my rooms are the windows. The draperies must be a Victorian flair. Right now we have the window treatments in this period and style but I am looking for the material that is absolutely perfect. Since walking into a room that is one thing that people notice first. Yet I have come upon many stumbling blocks in finding the perfect fabrics for this project.
I have seen many that would suit for example the Great Room. Needing to have not just the perfect style but the fabric that depicts the time and age of years gone by. Finding many fabrics that suited my needs for what I was actually looking for I was pleased with not only the selection but the cost of the fabrics as well.
When re-decorating your home or simply sprucing up a room you really need to consider cost and quality. Choosing fabrics such as those listed to me is a sensible thing to do. As you wish to have something that is unique, well made and will last.
Personally, I enjoyed looking at the many fabrics as I saw a number of the designs that I have not seen or perhaps over looked at other stores. The site was easy to navigate and I was intrigued by the various sections that was presented. Especially the bedroom section as that is the next project coming up here.
Spending an extra amount on your room will enhance the personal pleasure that you will feel when you walk in or just sitting. Your home is your master piece. Using fabrics and designs such as those I saw on Robert Allens site will help to make your decorating canvas a master piece.
