IOffer Update & Thank You
In one of my recent posts I wrote about Ioffer after hearing about it by another past eBay seller. I asked for any and all information as well.
I would like to thank Lea at Ocean of Perspectives for sending me some really thought provoking links regarding this site. After reading the sites and what both buyers and sellers alike had to say about IOffer I am a little hesitant on doing business there.
I have around 45 items that did upload, after a very confusing and lengthy time so I might just keep those there and see. I tried to do the rest and I have no idea what the Sam Hill the software is actually doing. Last I checked it was on one single item for an hour and there was no way to stop it. When something like that happens with a site I am uncomfortable about the reputation and service. Plus reading the others that have been on the site is not at all what I want to hear.

I'm glad you found the links helpful. Though IOFFER sounded really good, I have learned to be careful when looking for ways to generate money, especially on the internet. I wish you an abundance of good fortune.

I have had an account on iOffer for while now...I set one up as part of my mass exodus from UK and USA eBay when all their crazy changes started.
I have not had any problems, other than one on-paying buyer just now who is not a native English speaker and probably is just confused...it wasnt a big sale, so I am working with her on it:).
I wouldn't ever buy a "brand name" product there from a seller I hadn't had some sort of contact with before...too many scammers (basically because Ioffer is trying to be as unlike eBay as possible- which in itself is a good thing, but causes other problems). On the other hand, I have bought handmade items there with no problem, and gotten to know several sellers through their "events" in the chatrooms...
I haven't sold much, but I haven't worked at it either- my listings are still goofy looking from being transferred from eBay, and I have never had time to update them. I offer is NOT my most professional web platform, lol.
For now, my plan is to gradually clean up my site there, to keep in contact with other sellers and eventually build a reputation on the site...I dont ever expect it to be like eBay was in terms of sales, but eBay isnt like it was either...

I've recently tried iOffer for awhile, and I've grown accustomed to it. I personally think that it's a pretty cool site.
My opinion is that all auction/online marketplaces are going to have many pros and cons, and we as buyers and sellers have to do our best to protect ourselves. I find iOffer as a safe community with lots of nice, helpful members.
