Here is the story of the Great Meat Mystery.
I was planning on making a spare rib dish that is a family favorite. In order for it to taste its best you first lightly cook the pork then simmer it for hours in a red sauce. I had it simmering on the stove and had planned on placing it in the crock pots to cook all night into tomorrow for dinner.
I last checked on the meat turning off the burner in order to have the meat cool for transfer later on.
A bit ago I get an im from my youngest daughter asking me where the meat was. Thinking that she was pulling one of the many, many jokes on me I answered on the stove in the pot that was covered.
Nope. All gone. No where to be seen.
I went down stairs and just as she had said the meat was gone. No mess either. None of the boys had eaten it as they all said they knew better. The lid was on the stove neatly placed. Yet there was no mess. Now, if the cats had gotten into it don't you think that it would have made a pretty big mess? Or had foot prints somewhere due to the juices? Nothing
One cat had the smell of the meat on her paws but the amount of meat that was in there I just don't think that she could have eaten it all.
Now, my father might have gotten into it as he is not all mentally together any more due to a stroke and has been known to take food and hide it.
I don't know but an entire large pot of ribs is gone
It's a mystery.
